Random Thoughts From a Confused Mind

Friday Five:

1. Is your hair naturally curly, wavy, or straight? Long or short?

Shoulder length and wavy.

2. How has your hair changed over your lifetime?

When I was young, my hair was very, very straight. It wouldn't hold a curl for more than a short time. Now it's wavy (bordering on curly, especially if it's a humid day).

3. How do your normally wear your hair?

It's too thick to do much with it. I really need a good haircut. Lately I've just been pulling it back with a clip or in a ponytail to keep it out of the way.

4. If you could change your hair this minute, what would it look like?

I liked it when it looked like this.

5. Ever had a hair disaster? What happened?

Other than the every day disaster that is my hair, I got a perm once. It didn't take in random locks of my hair. They tried redoing it but that didn't help.

My seven-year-old daughter Emma is learing to cook. This weekend we're going to make Applesauce Bread:

1 3/4 cups applesauce
3 tablespoons butter
2 1/2 cups unbleached flour
1 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
2 /12 teaspoons dry yeast

Place ingredients in the bread machine pan according to manufacturer's instructions. Select "sweet" setting and start machine.

Makes one 2-lb. loaf.

We make non-bread machine bread together but by using the machine she can do much of it by herself. I supervise the measurements and take the pan out when it is done. We'll post the recipe with her comments on her site when we have finished.

Last night I followed a link from LGF to this section of the U.S. Department of State's site. And then to other section of the same site which has information for American citizens considering marriage to a Saudi.

Then today, I see this news article: U.S. Woman to Leave Saudi Arabia Without Children

Here's some more of the story.

State Department Deputy Spokesman Philip T. Reeker briefing transcript. There are some good questions with not so very good answers.

Will We See Gore TV?

An article from Time.com discusses the former Vice President's interest in "creating a media enterprise that could challenge the dominance of conservative voices in cable television and talk radio."

So to answer the title question, you might, I won't.

I found another blog directory yesterday, The Pepys Project. The entries are sorted by location and all submissions are reviewed before addition. I submitted my blog yesterday and had a response back saying my site was accepted the same day.

You can also find out "Who was Samuel Pepys?"

Organica.us says that they aren't yet adding new sites, but my blog is now listed. Check out all the info they provide for each Weblog. You can search for blogs but the link to the Alpha listings goes to the "About" page instead.
