I like this recipe because it doesn't have green peppers in it (more kid-friendly). 3 pounds ground beef 1/4 cup diced onion 24 ounces ketchup 1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce 1 tablespoon dry mustard 1/4 cup brown sugar 1 tablespoon beef base 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon black pepper Brown ground beef and onions over medium-high heat in a large skillet. Remove from heat. Drain off all fat and liquid. Add ketchup, Worcestershire, mustard, brown sugar, beef base, garlic powder and pepper. Cook uncovered over medium-low heat for about 20 minutes. Serve on a bun. I like to add a slice of cheese to mine. Serves 8 to 12. Permalink |
