Friday, September 13, 2002 ( 11:51 PM ) MB I changed my picture in my blog today. I think I was about six years old in this new picture...which surprised my kids who had believed that photography hadn't been invented when I was that young...they thought all we had were cave paintings.... Permalink ( 11:47 PM ) MB I went to physical therapy for my shoulder again today. I've been going three times a week but they are cutting me back to two times a week...I'm not sure if this is because I'm making progress or if they are tired of my whining and complaining. Every time I go there, I do a series of exercises. I don't mind the ones to increase my strength, but the stretching ones are killers. Of course, those are the ones I need the most so I can increase my range of motion. I just wish there was something more effective in stopping the aches and pains from it all. The reason I'm doing this is, according to my doctor's diagnosis, a frozen shoulder. Along with the risk factors mentioned in that site (I come under the first two), my doctor said it was more common in people who sleep on their side. Unfortunately there is no quick fix for this. Recovery is a long process, usually taking a year or more...but at least I'm alive and in most other aspects, in good health. Watching the television broadcasts last Wednesday, September 11, reminded me to appreciate what I do have. Survivors and friends and families of the victims of the attack last year have endured a kind of pain that I can't even begin to imagine...and I hope that neither I nor anyone else will ever have to experience.
