Friday, July 19, 2002 ( 9:31 AM ) MB I had to go all yesterday without my computer! It's amazing how much more housework gets done when I can't get online. I had an employee meeting yesterday morning, when I got home, I turned on my computer but it wouldn't boot up, even in safe mode. When my husband got home, he emailed Compaq (my computer's manufacturer). Say what you want about Compaq (I've said a few things about them myself), but twice now we've had to email their customer support and both times we've had a reply within about an hour and both times it has been easy to understand and has fixed the problem. I have to give them props for that. Customer service seems to be the point where some companies are sadly lacking. Lucky for me, they took care of the problem and I'm back online! Wheeee!!! It would have been a bad time for me to be offline for any length of time. We're getting closer to the relaunch date of JoeAnt and there is still a lot of work for me to do. Not the real hard stuff (programming) since Jerry takes care of that, but I am working on guidelines and similar sections. After the relaunch, JoeAnt will be spiderable. This will be an added benefit to Web masters, besides being listed in JoeAnt, they will have another Google backlink. We are being used for regional specific searches on a few sites: Houston and Apartments Denver and Apartments Tampa Bay and Apartments Phoenix and Apartments New York City Movers More will be added soon. Along with being spiderable, Joe will have a new look. It will be easier to read and the features more user friendly. I'll post here when we relaunch so you can check it out. Permalink Wednesday, July 17, 2002 ( 12:44 AM ) MB I've been spending some time recently updating my Louisville site. I changed the colors and cleaned it up some by justifying the margins of the text (like I've done here). I also added colored scroll bars (only works with IE though) just to see how it was done. I've started a page of media links but only have newspapers done so far. I think after that I'll add daytrips to the Attractions page...assuming I can find the time. The way things have been lately, it may be sometime around New Year's. Permalink |
